Tropical freshwater ecosystems and their fauna are relatively understudied, but globally perhaps one of the most imperilled ecosystems. Research in our group is broadly spread across the fields of community ecology, stream fish biodiversity, conservation and behavioural ecology of fish. An over arching goal of our research is to understand the ecological (natural and anthropogenic) factors that play the most critical roles in determining observed patterns in species community structure and their functions (such as food web dynamics, behavioural phenotypes).
We are conducting field as well as laboratory based studies to answer our questions.
