Research Interests

In July 2018, after completing my Master’s dissertation on studying behaviour in an Indian Ponerine ant species, I joined the Fish Ecology and Behaviour Lab for a short-term project. My first experiment revealed that the behaviour of zebrafish dyads depended on the time of the day and on the sex of the dyad. Soon after, I joined as a PhD Scholar and I moved on to study the behaviour of wild zebrafish shoals. My interests led me to examine and find interesting results on how behaviour changes in presence of predator cues and vegetation. I am currently trying to decipher what ecological factors drive zebrafish towards mixed species shoaling and the response of mixed species shoals to elevated temperatures. Apart from the above, my interests include painting.
